Tap, don't type
Updates are preset buttons: On my way, ETA 15 or 30 minutes or 1 hour, Running late, Stuck in traffic, Arrived at pickup, Breakdown, and All good. There's no free-text chat, so drivers aren't tempted to type while moving. Drivers should still only tap when they're safely stopped.
Who sees the updates
The driver, every rider with a paid seat (including riders picked up along the way), and drivers whose next leg starts where this trip ends. Nobody else can see them.
Built for the relay grid
When one driver's drop-off is the next driver's pickup, the incoming driver can tap Ready for relay handoff or Breakdown. The connecting driver sees it right away and can plan around it.
Where to find it
Open any trip you're part of while you're signed in. The Trip updates panel appears below the booking details and refreshes live.
